While the mountain is popular among hikers, it also features a parking lot near the summit, making it accessible by vehicle—and an under-the-radar destination for motorcycle touring. Kadoya Farm (Makiba-kan)
While Kadoya Farm itself isn’t open to the public, the adjacent Makiba-kan is an excellent rest stop.
Inside the facility, there are products made from Ashigara beef raised at Kadoya Farm, as well as a frozen vending machine selling gelato. The Ashigara beef curry can be heated in the microwave inside and enjoyed at the outdoor terrace seating.
The vending machine offers honey harvested at the farm and milk from Kaoru-no-Bokujou, a different farm located in the same town of Yamakita.
